The unique artistry of Indian violin - Vidushi Kala Ramnath

Vidushi Kala Ramnath is a world-renowned Indian  violinist and vocalist of Mewati Gharana. She's among the finest and most inspirational instrumentalists.

Born into a musical family, she has got the primary training from her family and then became under the tutelage of Pandit Jasraj. Under him, learnt vocal music, then reproduce the vocal music on her violin in a unique way. She adopted the vocal music on her violin in the finest manner. Her aunt Dr N.Rajam and uncle Prof.T.N.Krishnan was an inspiration for her musical journey.

She has been featured on the Grammy-nominated miles from India project, was lucky to appear her compositions on the Grammy-winning album. Vidushi Kala Ramnath has appeared on the world stages including London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts, Sydney Opera House. In 2017, she was awarded the Sangeet Natak Academy Puraskar. Kala Ji was the first Indian violinist featured in the Violin Bible. As a musician, she was fortunate to perform in the London Symphony and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Kalashree foundation is one of her works, to enrich the under privilege and sick children through music. She has been teaching Indian music to students around the world.
